House in Voelklip

Dual Mandate.

If one ever wants to get a true feel for what Hermanus and Voelklip is about, this property would be it. Short walks to the beach and views that we all know make this place so special.

Depending on whether you are looking for a holiday home that can accommodate the whole family and close friends it is certainly an option and if you are looking for a permanent home that offers you space and a wonderful quality of life, this too could be it. Built across three levels and with the sun never losing touch throughout the day, I like the positioning of this property on the erf as well as its location within Voelklip.

The top floors hosts two full bedrooms en-suite with an informal lounge. Each bedroom has its own balcony offering privacy and tranquil ocean views. There is an informal lounge with a built in braai on this same level which can afford privacy if its needed. On the lower level one has two further bedrooms and the informal lounge with built in bar. This area opens up to a large patio and small garden which is south facing with a built in braai protected from the SE wind. The middle level is where the action is with an entertainment area that is large yet cohesive enough with a clever use of space. The open plan lounge and dining area pre-empts the magnificent sea views with a full kitchen and scullery within close access and cleverly hidden from the guests. The patio and pool area are extensive and can allow for very long summer days lounging at the pool with the sea air keeping you cool. This property also has solar energy invested and certainly adds serious value.

A lovely property, positioned beautifully and located at one of Hermanus' most sought after addresses.

House in Kwaaiwater

Whenever I have listed a home in Kwaaiwater it always sells sooner than later! This home will be no exception. Nestled in a quiet street in Kwaaiwater this property has every reason to sell. Not only does it face due North for those spectacular mountain views but the positioning on the erf is key too. The landscaped garden was recently laid creating an impressive entry façade which sets the tone for what is to follow. The large entrance hall immediately catches your attention with gorgeous bamboo floors. Downstairs has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. What I like about the third one is that is has its own entrance and can be accessed through a different point to the rest of the home. The first bedroom is quite large in size and can either take two beds for the kids or a full king size bed with a desk. The full bathroom is right alongside and the guest bathroom too. I like the many cupboards and a further bedroom which completes the sleeping abode downstairs. All three bedrooms have picturesque views of either mountain or garden. If the kids decide they want to chill downstairs in this section they can since a lounge forms part of the downstairs area. The room is big enough to either work as a dining area or study in addition to the lounge. Access to the patio is from the lounge area. The downstairs patio is very private and has a pretty garden facing it for where the dogs can roam around or put in a splash pool in the future. There is more than enough space!

However, the piece de resistance is once you are upstairs and make your way to the balau deck. My photos hopefully do justice to the views! A full lounge, open plan kitchen and dining area encompass the upstairs living space. Its open, light, spacious and has a wonderful sense of calm. Off the lounge is the main bedroom which may have the best view in Hermanus as far as wake up calls are considered! Also en-suite with two separate balconies this main does have a great feel. The one north facing patio for morning coffee and one south west facing for soothing sundowners. The north-facing patio offers you a masterpiece view on a deck that can only be seen to be understood especially when the sun starts to close its weary eyes.

This is a good-looking house in a good-looking area with a good-looking price.

House in Hermanus Heights

When I get a listing in Hermanus Heights its always a pleasure and this property is no exception.

With an eagle's view of the bay, golf course and the mountains, you are positioned exquisitely. Located in one of the primary streets within the suburb and of course within Hermanus, No 7 will entice you. The clever design of this home allows for single-level living on level one of two floors. The entrance hall guides you into either the lounge or dining area both of which have their own expansive balconies from which to absorb the beauty of the place we live in. The lounge is spacious, open and light with a fireplace as is the dining room and that too has a fireplace. As a mirror image of one another, the lounge and dining room hold no compromise on views at all. In fact, the patios that lead off the lounge and dining room offer you numerous choices if you have guests or just on your own watching the sunrise over Maanskyn. On the same level is the fully-fitted and well-appointed gulley kitchen. A well-thought out design since both lounge and dining area feed off the kitchen so elaborate entertainment options for all those socialistas! The scullery, full study and guest bathroom complete the functional areas. The main bedroom has a dressing area and full bathroom. I quite like the mountain views and the double doors opening onto the inner courtyard.

There are three other bedrooms on this level and two share a full bathroom with the other en-suite. The added social aspect and value lies in the additional dining area which also has a built in bar and braai. This room looks onto the pool and the gorgeous face of our mountains. Complete privacy and in touch with nature's kind offerings of birds and fynbos.

Downstairs this would be what I call "Covid-friendly". A full room for a gym and jacuzzi - you can make it whatever your heart desires since the space is there! A movie room is also an option. The large cellar is perfectly positioned in the cool spot. The four garages add enormous value and storage is ample. A total number of six vehicles can be parked under cover. There is an adjacent small flatlet downstairs for extra guests or can be used as staff quarters. It has its own inner courtyard for added privacy and separate entrance. The landscaped garden has my favourite Fever tree and with a recent solar investment, this house pretty much seals the decision to book a viewing.

House in Berghof

I have watched this house being built from foundation phase and its beautiful. Everything I thought it would be. You have to come view! Having sold two in the estate already by the same builder, I am proud to present the new house on the Berghof Block. This estate is gradually coming into its own as one of the best hidden secrets of Hermanus in terms of pricing and location.

The single storey aspect will appeal to many clients but the views will appeal to all. Facing the ocean is what it is all about and this house has all that but more. There is a lovely porch at the entrance and this pretty face of the house begins your journey. The entrance lobby is where everything leads from for guests but there is direct access from the garage into the house for the owners. From the lobby the lounge and open plan layout is well designed to take in all the possible views! The dining room and covered patio in particular will have the most exquisite sights and sounds of the ocean and its changing moods. This house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two of the bathrooms are full en-suites. If you dont use the third bedroom as a guest room you could to opt to use it as a study. There is a small low maintenance garden for those with pets. With a fantastic double garage leading into the scullery there is not much more that you need or want in a home that can be a permanent or holiday investment. If you are interested a site visit can be arranged with the builder.

Either way, a great option. Expected completion date is end March 2022.
